高级语法教程 2 The nature of grammar and grammar errors

这节课我们通过一些具体的例子,来复习基本的语法概念,以及寻找为什么我们会出现语法错误的原因。


课前回顾了之前的作业,就是一定要意识到自己到底是在哪里不熟悉,然后有针对性的用对自己有意义的事情来练习。并且尽可能多读英文书,找寻多样的表达方式

名词

Divide this list of nouns into three categoreis, giving a heading to each.

Word List: elephant, hope, September, delay, Diana, humor, car, marmalade, radio, Poland, truth, telephone, pole, mirror, oak, excitement

仔细查看各个选项之后,直觉的分类就是:抽象名词、具体名词和其他专有名词(月份/名字/国家)

不过除了专有名词之外,还有另一种思路,就是按照『可以当动词』的名词,和『不可以当动词』的名词,具体大家可以查查看

动词

Divide the verbs in these utterances into two categories, stating a reason for your allocation

这里主要是帮助大家区分及物动词(transitive)和不及物动词(intransitive)

  1. You’ve finished your tea.
  2. They are eating cake.
  3. They are eating at home.
  4. She wants to watch TV.
  5. I’m going to bed.
  6. I’m reparing the car.
  7. Cortez conquered Mexico.
  8. Many leading politicians have died violently.
  9. I can’t think clearly!
  10. I hate this exersise!

句子结构

Why do these nonsense sentences sound acceptable

这里需要注意英语的结构:SVO(Subject + Verb + Object),想想为什么下面这一堆乱七八糟的也能构成『像样』的句子

  1. He crattled his splot and scrot out a neelying groal.
  2. They strentered folicly until a magan veened to famble them.

有主语,有类似过去式的动词,有借此,有形容词,有类似的短语结构。
